Mr & Mrs Blemings are a young professional couple with 2 children, who live in a modern house on the outskirts of Warwick. When they decided to extend the back of their property they came to Nobilia By RFK for a design that took into consideration the space and the needs of their young family, whilst creating a contemporary and clean feel with contrast and personality.
We decided very early on in the process that the kitchen would feature a dual colour and would be designed around clean, straight lines and functional minimalism. The extension was built with bi fold doors looking directly out onto the garden and so was flooded with natural light, this combined with velux windows in the vaulted ceiling allowed us to opt for a bold matt black to all units against the wall, with a contrasting lighter grey colour on the island.
The addition of a beautiful stone colour quartz married the two together perfectly. Working within the parameters of the room, we designed the tall units to be grouped together to one side of the supporting beam running centrally across the ceiling, with the hob and ample worktop space to the other side. The sink was placed centrally within the island, creating set working zones around the ovens, hob, and sink/dishwasher areas. The brushed steel elongated grip handles add a linear and stylish edge, while the Zebrano breakfast bar and stone worktops add warmth and character, tying the kitchen in with the family dining table to the other side of the room.
The fitted result offers a perfect balance of form and function, with the objective of creating a modern and stylish kitchen that functions for a young family being well and truly met.
“Thomas at Nobilia/RFK really listened to our brief from the outset and offered some fantastic design inspiration. Unlike some other kitchen designers and companies we tried at the time, he never lost sight of our requests and always strived to provide options to manage budget well. My wife and I are delighted with the service and finished kitchen is amazing.”
